Your NDIS plan review guide.

A plan review is your chance to make sure your funding actually matches your life. A bit of preparation makes a big difference to what you walk away with.

What a plan review is

A plan review is a meeting with the NDIS to look at how your current plan is working and set up the next one. It usually happens once a year, though it can be sooner if your situation changes.

It is not a test. It is a chance to adjust your funding so it fits where you are now, not where you were twelve months ago.

How to prepare

Come with evidence and examples. Think about what worked in the last plan, what did not, and where you needed more support than you had. Reports from your therapists, doctors, or support coordinator all help.

Write down your goals for the year ahead in plain terms. The clearer you are about what you want to achieve, the easier it is for the planner to fund the supports that get you there.

What to ask for

Ask for what you actually need, backed by why. If you ran out of support hours, say so and explain the impact. If a new goal has come up, like employment or moving out, name it and ask for the supports that make it possible.

Do not undersell yourself. Plans are built on the picture you paint, so paint the full one, including the hard days, not just the good ones.

Common questions

When does my plan get reviewed?

Most plans are reviewed yearly, but you can request an early review if your needs change significantly. The date is usually listed in your current plan.

Can I bring someone with me?

Yes. You can bring family, an advocate, or your support coordinator. Having someone who knows your situation in the room helps a lot.

What if I disagree with the outcome?

You can request a review of a decision if you think your plan does not reflect your needs. We can help you understand your options.
