three goes a week

Come to one, come to all three.

The kitchen runs three times a week. Each session cooks something different, so you can come once or make it your regular thing.

Cooking Class

Tuesdays, 10am to 1:30pm

The morning crew. A full cook from prep to plate, then everyone sits down together for lunch.

Cooking Class

Wednesdays, 1:30pm to 4:30pm

The afternoon session. Same idea, different recipe, and something to take home for dinner.

Cooking Class

Thursdays, 10am to 1pm

A shorter morning in the kitchen. Good if you are easing in or like a lighter session.

what's on the menu

What you'll actually cook.

A rough idea of what happens at the bench. It changes with the season and with what the group fancies.

Knife skills & prep

Chopping, peeling and setting a board up safely. The basics that make everything else easier.

Following a recipe

Reading a method, measuring and timing. Skills that carry straight into your own kitchen.

Baking & sweets

Cakes, biscuits and the odd slice. The sessions that smell the best by a mile.

Budget & shopping

Planning a meal, writing a list and shopping to a budget. Real independence, one trolley at a time.

Food safety & hygiene

Clean hands, safe storage and cooking things properly. Quiet skills that matter.

The shared meal

The best bit. Everyone sits down and eats what the group made, together.

who it's for

For anyone who likes to eat.

You do not need to know your way around a kitchen. Turn up, grab an apron, and we will show you the rest. Being a bit hungry is the only real requirement.

No experience needed, we start from wherever you are
An accessible kitchen with adaptive tools, tell us what helps
A support worker on hand during the session if you would like one
Usually funded under community participation, and daily living skills can sit under Capacity Building

real food, real skills

Cooking that actually feeds you.

We cook proper meals here. Fresh vegetables, decent protein, things you would genuinely want to eat, and things you can make again at home on a weeknight without much fuss.

Along the way you pick up the useful stuff: reading a recipe, handling a knife safely, planning a shop, getting everything to land on the table at the same time. Small wins that add up to cooking for yourself with confidence.

why people keep coming back

More than a nice feed.

You take something home

Leftovers, a recipe card, a new go-to meal. Small wins you can actually taste.

You get more independent

Cooking, budgeting and shopping skills that make everyday life at home easier.

You make friends

A shared kitchen and a shared table is a surprisingly easy way to get talking.

Ready when you are.

the questions we get most

Cooking Club questions, answered.

Do I need to know how to cook?

No. Plenty of people who come have barely boiled an egg. We start from wherever you are and build up, and there is always a hand nearby.

Are allergies and dietary needs okay?

Yes. Tell us about allergies, intolerances or anything you avoid when you call, and we will plan the sessions around it so everyone can join in and eat.

Is the kitchen accessible?

Yes. The space is step-free and we have adaptive tools and adjustable setups so everyone can take part. Let us know what helps and we will have it ready.

What NDIS funding pays for it?

Usually Core Supports, under assistance with social and community participation. Building daily living skills can sometimes sit under Capacity Building. If you are not sure, we will look at your plan with you.

Can I try a session before I commit?

Yes, and we would rather you did. Come and cook with us once, share the meal, meet a few people. No obligation and no pressure.

come and cook with us

Book a spot, or just come and eat.

Give us a call and we will sort your days, or leave your details and we will call you. No commitment, and there is always a spare seat at the table.
