the things people actually ask

Frequently asked questions.

Straight answers about how we work, what the NDIS funds, and what to expect. If what you are after is not here, call us and ask.

everything in one place

NDIS and YAY Today, answered.

Getting started
How do I start services with YAY Today?

Contact us or send a referral. We will take time to understand your goals, support needs, funding and location, then talk you through whether we are the right fit. There is no charge for that conversation.

Do I need a referral?

Not always. Participants, family members, carers, support coordinators and plan managers can all just call us. A referral helps because it gives us the detail up front, but it is not a requirement to make contact.

How quickly can supports start?

We acknowledge every referral within one business day. How fast supports actually begin depends on the type of support, location, funding and worker availability. Complex supports usually need more planning, and we will be honest about timeframes rather than over-promising.

Coverage & funding
Which areas do you cover?

We support participants across Greater Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula, from our office at 437 North Road, Ormond. Our SIL homes are in Clayton and Frankston.

What does the NDIS fund?

Broadly, Core Supports cover daily life, community access and consumables. Capacity Building covers therapy, skill development, support coordination and employment supports. Capital covers equipment and home modifications. If you are unsure what yours allows, we can go through it with you.

Ongoing support
Can I change my support worker?

Yes. If the match is not working, tell us and we will change it. We would rather sort it early than have you put up with support that is not right.

Do you support people with complex or high-intensity needs?

Yes. This includes positive behaviour support, epilepsy and seizure management, mealtime support, medication administration and complex mobility. High-intensity supports are overseen by Authorised Program Officers.

Trust & compliance
How do I make a complaint or give feedback?

Directly to us, and you can do it anonymously if that feels safer. We treat feedback as a core part of staying accountable, and we would genuinely rather hear about a problem early than find out later.

Are you a registered NDIS provider?

Yes, registered with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. We were also recognised for elements of best practice during our most recent NDIS audit.

no question is too basic

Still not sure about something?

Call us. We explain things in plain words and we will not make you feel silly for asking.
