This is YAY Living and Learning, our community day program in Ormond. Art, cooking, barista training, creative workshops and a wellbeing day, running Tuesday to Saturday. Come for one session a week or every one of them. Drop in if you like, an RSVP just means the kettle is on.
An NDIS day program is funded under community participation, and it should do two things at once. Build a real skill, and put you in a room with people you click with. Plenty of programs manage one and forget the other.
Ours runs from our Ormond centre with a proper kitchen, a real coffee machine and an art space. Pick one session, pick a few, or come every day we are open. Change your mind whenever you want.
Four workshops we run week in, week out. Tap through for the full run-down, times and how to get started.
Paint, draw, print and make. Two sessions a week for anyone who wants to get their hands messy and try something new.
Learn more →Chopping, recipes, shopping lists and a meal at the end. The part everyone stays for is eating it together.
Learn more →Real skills on a real machine. Brewing, milk, latte art, the lot. Several of our participants have gone on to paid cafe work.
Learn more →Yoga, meditation and a slower pace. A Thursday afternoon to reset, breathe and look after the rest of you.
Learn more →Come for one, come for all. Tuesday to Saturday, all at 437 North Road, Ormond.
* Yay to Friday may include out of pocket fees. Every other program is billed through your NDIS plan.
Day programs are usually funded under Core Supports, specifically assistance with social and community participation. Some skill building activities may sit under Capacity Building. If you are not sure what your plan covers, we will look at it with you.
We run Tuesday to Saturday. Some people come once a week, some come most days. You can change your days as you go, and you will not be pushed to commit to more than you want.
Yes, and we would rather you did. Come in, have a look, sit in on a session, meet a few people. There is no obligation and no pressure.
At our centre at 437 North Road, Ormond, close to Ormond station. We support participants travelling from across Greater Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula.
Not at all. We have experienced, trained support workers on hand. If you would like dedicated one to one support during a session or transport to and from, just ask and we will sort it.
From a first drop-in to a week you look forward to. Same person, more possibility.
Come try a session →A day built around self care, friendship and feeling good in your own skin. Skincare and makeup, a proper pamper session, crafts, and enough good food to keep everyone happy.
It started as a one off and went down so well that people asked for it back. If you would like to come along to the next one, just say the word.
