A Goal to Support Her Community
El is a valued participant in our NDIS day programs.
She has a strong passion for helping others.
In particular, she wanted to support people in her own community.
Now, she is continuing her journey and studying a Certificate IV in Mental Health.
However, the path was not easy.
A Year of Challenges
El faced major challenges finding a placement.
Many providers did not offer her an opportunity.
At one point, she even started a placement elsewhere.
Unfortunately, that placement did not continue.
As a result, El spent one full year searching for another option.
This was a difficult and frustrating time.
However, she did not give up.
How YAY Today Stepped In
At YAY Today, we believe in empowering our participants.
We focus on building real skills and confidence.
Nicole, our Head of Operations, shared this vision clearly.
We saw El’s passion and her determination to succeed.
Therefore, we offered her the opportunity to complete her placement with us.
Two Months of Growth and Progress
For the past two months, El joined us every Monday and Friday.
During this time, she worked closely with our team.
She developed practical skills in a real environment.
She also built confidence in supporting others.
Most importantly, she showed commitment and consistency.
As a result, she performed extremely well throughout her placement.

El has successfully passed her placement.
This is a huge milestone in her journey.
