Being Eligible For NDIS

What is NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian government initiative that provides support to people with disabilities, their families, and their caregivers who fit the NDIS eligibility criteria. Importantly, the NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.

Eligibility criteria for NDIS services

To be eligible for benefits provided by the NDIS, you must meet certain fundamental criteria. Here is the list of them:

Once you have confirmed your eligibility for NDIS services, apply for an NDIS plan. From there, this plan will outline the services and support that you are entitled to receive under the scheme. For exemple, these services may include funding for equipment and aids, assistance with daily living tasks, access to therapies and treatments, and support for social and recreational activities.

To apply for NDIS services, complete an Access Request Form, which you can find on the NDIS website. You will also need to provide documentation that supports your disability and the impact it has on your life. This may include medical reports, assessments, and other relevant documentation.
