BEING ELIGIBLE FOR NDIS
What is NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an Australian government initiative designed to provide support to people with disabilities, their families, and their caregivers. The NDIS provides funding to eligible people with disability to gain more time with family and friends, greater independence, access to new skills, jobs, or volunteering in their community, and an improved quality of life.

Eligibility criteria for NDIS services
To be eligible for benefits provided by the NDIS, certain fundamental criteria must be met. Here is the list of them:
- You must have a permanent and significant disability that affects your ability to perform everyday tasks.
- You must be under the age of 65 at the time of your application.
- You must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa.
Once you have confirmed your eligibility for NDIS services, you can apply for an NDIS plan. This plan will outline the services and support that you are entitled to receive under the scheme. These services may include funding for equipment and aids, assistance with daily living tasks, access to therapies and treatments, and support for social and recreational activities.
